It’s the most popular question among clients: How do I accurately discern between human thoughts and emotions and soul communication? How do I know where the voice comes from and how to act in accordance with the soul – the wise master that lives within me?
PRACTICE. You will make mistakes and at the same time there are no mistakes. As humans, we are tricked into believing that indeed, we can fuck something up. Yet, at the soul level, there is no such thing as a mistake – only an experience. The only real fuck up lies in not making a decision – becoming so caught up in the decision making process that you do not take any actions at all. And that, my friends, is where stuck energy is created and where it festers, creating more stuck energy. We’ve all done it, but it’s time to learn from the experience and move on to creating our own, unique soul experiences. Instead of being paralyzed by fear, here are a few common threads in discerning between the voices inside of you. But first, let’s remember what discernment actually is and then take it a step further. I first defined it in a blog I wrote about my re-awakening story: DISCERNMENT: (N) The ability to see and understand people, things or situations clearly and with an expanded level of consciousness and in alignment with the soul. (V) An act of perceiving something, someone or a situation through the lens of expanded consciousness and in alignment with the soul. I was using the term in that post to discern the authenticity of external stimuli, but the same method applies here internally. DISCERNMENT is the act of perceiving where a communication, or voice, comes from internally through the lens of expanded awareness to determine it is it our own, unique truth. If it doesn’t make sense now, it will as we move down the list. When working with clients, myself included, we often begin by connecting with the human self inside of the body. Most clients feel this in their head or upper regions of the their body. Next we connect with soul, which many clients describe as being in the region of their heart or gut. So in some cases, locating the voice physically in the body can provide a wealth of information to discern the authenticity of the information. Additionally, human though forms and emotions have a few similar traits. Thoughts have a tendency to repeat themselves. They tend to not have much depth and tend to be critical in tone and urgent in nature. Thoughts tend to be associated with what I call ‘the shoulds’ based on belief systems, such as religious or spiritual dogmas, familial and/ or community standards. For example, a thought form like this might say, you need to make more money to be successful, you should have a family by now at this age, you should be more fit. You should do more or less of this or that to meet the standards of mass consciousness. Emotions are usually the result of these thought forms. For example, I do not make enough money to bring my family a certain standard of life expected in my community. The resulting emotion is guilt. The guilt then feeds the thought in a sick cycle. I am a woman in her mid-30s with a great career but something is missing because I have not married and produced a child, according to my family. The resulting emotion is sadness, anger, guilt, whatever. And again it feeds the proverbial hamster wheel of limited human thoughts and emotions. Additionally, thoughts can feel like pressure in the brain or head. They usually feel labored from running on the hamster wheel for so long. Thoughts can feel energetically flat, grey or dull, and most certainly they feel antiquated. Thoughts are often associated with control, resistance and/or force – like trying to push a rock up a hill or too much information through a small tube. The thing many humans do not realize is that the shelf life of thoughts and emotions is so very short – less than a minute – that is, unless you feed them. If you resist them, if you fear a seemingly unpleasant emotion, you are feeding it. You are saying, hey, stick around for a bit. Yes, you say, that makes sense, but how to I stop feeding these repetitive thoughts and unpleasant emotions? Instead, you can let those thoughts and emotions flow freely, and watch as they disappear quickly. And you can ask this simple question: IS THIS THOUGHT AND ASSOCIATED EMOTION MINE? IS IT REALLY MINE? It is the greatest question you can ask yourself at the soul level. More than 90% of what you think and feel is not yours. It is a constant question that must be asked. Is this thought mine? Is this emotion mine? Or is it someone else’s? Nine times out of ten, that thought or emotion is not yours. Guilt – not yours. Shame – definitely not yours. The soul never feels shame or guilt. It comes from the mass consciousness you exist in. In comes from your family’s created, illusory standards that have been passed on for thousands of years. It comes from your work peers who got it from their work peers, and it spreads like a disease. It’s time to stop the cycle. It’s time to stop being the bitch to thoughts and emotions you are perceiving as your own but really aren't yours. UPGRADE TO BROADBAND INTERNET FOR YOUR SOUL EXPERIENCES You must expand to bring your soul experiences into your conscious awareness. Trying to perceive the vastly expanded experience of the soul through the vision of the limited human experience is like trying to download a high definition movie through a dial up internet connection. You must upgrade to the high speed, broadband internet, creating a larger tube for the information to flow through. In contrast to the limited human voice, the soul voice feels fresh, alive, open, expanded and dynamic. It does not repeat like a skipping record player. Soul voice is gentle, kind and patient – never critical. It often comes from deep within – almost as a whisper – often as a suggestion, rather than a command. Soul voice is a sensual experience that cannot be felt through your five basic human senses. It often comes in as gnost, or a deep inner knowing, or through intuition on how to act in your current situation. The communication may be in an image or dream or single word that you will need to sense into rather than process through yet more thinking. That is something that can and will happen, and it is part of the process. You will receive soul information and then you will destroy it by running it through your antiquated system of logical, linear thinking. But that’s how you learn to access and use this voice to create the life you desire at the soul level – not the life society tells you SHOULD have. RADICAL OBSERVATION MODE The best tool for embarking on this journey is to slip into radical observation mode. Witness yourself without judgment in how you are processing information. Where is the information coming from? What is the tone of the information? Experiment. Make decisions. Take note of the outcomes. Let go of the human worry that you will fuck something up. Let the soul vision and experience come into your reality. See, feel and know how natural it feels. Soul creations do not require effort, resistance or force. Once you recognize your first soul communication, it will be like muscle memory. You will just know it is the soul rather than a limited human thought creation. Then use the brain for what it was intended for– to make the day-to-day tasks happen – to create the budget, to send the emails, to make the calls. You will need the combination of the soul and the brain to bring your creation into your reality. The mind knows how to do the servant tasks as the soul’s creative nature flows effortlessly and in an expanded manner. When you are inspired to create, act, allowing in what is already there – what already exists – knowing the energy to make it happen was there waiting for you to command it all along. If you would like support in your creative endeavors, please do not hesitate to reach out and set up a session. Next time, we’ll be talking about abundance and what it truly means to live an abundant life. Until then, happy creating, friends!
